Product Description

Dave (Jason Lee) isn't exactly the typical father figure with an average family, but he cares deeply about his adoptive chipmunks Alvin (Justin Long), Theodore (Jesse McCartney), and Simon (Matthew Gray Gubler). While the performing life presents its own unique challenges, Dave always does his best to instill a sense of compassion and familial love into his young charges. When Alvin begins to get a little too caught up in his own stardom, Dave reminds him to share the spotlight with his fellow chipmunks, but Alvin gets carried away and ends up inadvertently injuring Dave on location in Paris. Aunt Jackie (Kathryn Joosten) steps in to look after the Chipmunks, but when her wheelchair rolls down a flight of stairs, only her irresponsible grandson Toby (Zachary Levi) is left to watch over the boys. An unemployed video gamer who lives with Jackie, Toby is completely unprepared for the responsibility of caring for the Chipmunks, but he agrees nonetheless. Starting school is not easy for the Chipmunks, and they are the target of bullying from their very first day. But Alvin eventually works his way in with the popular crowd, leaving Theodore and Simon to fend for themselves with little support from Toby. The school principal (Wendie Malick) is one of the Chipmunks' biggest fans, and when the school's music department is about to be shut down due to lack of funds, she decides to enter them in a competition that will save the music program. Enter the Chipettes--female chipmunks Brittany (Christina Applegate), Eleanor (Amy Poehler), and Jeanette (Anna Faris), who are seeking their own chance for singing stardom--and the Chipmunks' dishonest ex-agent, Ian (David Cross), and the stage is set for some serious backstabbing competition. Craziness reigns as the two groups wage a musical war against one another, but in the end it all comes down to a question of what's more important--stardom or friendship. As in the first Alvin and the Chipmunks movie, the music is strangely appealing despite being performed mostly in falsetto, the characters are cute, the action is comical, and the life lessons ring true. (Ages 6 and older with parental guidance due to some mild rude humor) --Tami Horiuchi

I can't believe how awesome this movie was. The humor, comedy, and music was all awesome. Sure, I didn't expect such a rivalry between the Chipmunks and the Chipettes, but the movie, and the dvd, are worth the wait...

P.S. I would agree, "A Great Squeakquel"
Better than the original!

I've seen the first chipmunk movie. It was okay, kinda cute. But I slowly began to hate it because it seemed like everywhere I went, the movie was playing! It got annoying, there are only so many times you can here the Chipmunk Christmas song.

Now when I saw the teaser for the second movie with my family, we all laughed at it, and I automatically knew I wanted to see it. The first one may have been annoying at times, but this one was going to have the chipettes in it, so it should be a little bit better (I've always been a chipettes fan), and.... I was right.

This movie was way better than the first one. It had humor, action, and some good lessons about family and friends. And the chipmunk romance made me smile. I liked the songs too, especially the songs the chipettes sang. The song at the end, "We Are Family" was so catchy, I uploaded it to my iPod a week later!

I loved it, and if you need another reason to see it, my 7 year old cousin enjoyed it too. So, kids love it, and I (a teen) love it. If you need a good family film, watch this movie (I'm not sure about the original, although you should probably watch it before this movie so you aren't confused).
Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel (Two-Disc Special Edition)

Alvin, Simon and Theodore end up in the care of Dave Seville's twenty-something nephew Toby. The boys must put aside music super stardom to return to school, and are tasked with saving the school's music program by winning the $25,000 prize in a battle of the bands. But the Chipmunks unexpectedly meet their match in three singing chipmunks known as The Chipettes. Though the Chipmunks are confident they have the songwriting skills to steamroll the competition, a newly formed singing trio dubbed the Chippettes promises to give them some stiff competition on-stage. Brittany, Eleanor, and Jeanette are indeed the real deal, and the closer the competition gets, the more Alvin, Simon, and Theodore realize that in order to win, they'll have to give it everything they've got. This is a great movie. If you liked the first one you will like this one. Your kids will love it and thats what the movie is for.
A Squeakquel well DONE!!!!

I just recently had the pleasure in seeing Alvin and the Chipmunks squeakquel in theaters on Dec 30, 2009.. I'm a grown women but always will be a kid at heart. I myself really enjoyed this movie. It was funny, good hearted, and decent for kids and grown ups of all ages. Usually when there are sequels to movies they aren't usually as good as the first one. BUT my opinion in the case of this movie is certainly not true. It's a Squeakquel well done. I would love to go see it again. I will also buy it when it comes out on blu-ray hopefully in a double pack edition with the dvd also. I give this movies two thumbs up. For anybody that wants to go see a great decent, clean family movie full of laughs.. I surely recommend this one to you!!!

I am twelve years old, and I have seen plenty of movies. This one has made my tops!
These animals are not only cute but they talk too. Alvin is the star of this movie and their concerts...well, actually I take that back all the chipmunks are the star of the movie. Any way back to Alvin he wears a red shirt with a yellow A on it, And Simon and Theodore's brother. That's Alvin for you. Now Theodore he is the cute chubby one wearing a darkish green sweater. Simon is the smart brother wearing glasses and a blue sweater. These adorable animals have a cartoon show too, but this movie is not animated. They sing and that is just too cute. Alvin and his brothers meet some lady chipmunks at their school. The school mascot is an eagle, there is a very cute part with Theodore on that. This movie is not all about the chipmunks it has people in it too.
This is a very good movie. When the animals talk it actually looks real. Well that's all I can say I don't want to give the whole movie away. You would be an idiot not to go see this movie.
